Fête de la Francophonie Festival in New York City
NEW YORK, NY — From March 19, 20, 22, 2026, the Fête de la Francophonie Festival launches its first edition at Teatro LATEA, establishing a new landmark on New York’s cultural calendar. Presented by Executive Artistic Director Miguel Trelles and Resident Choreographer Carole Alexis, Director of Ballet des Amériques, the three-day festival offers an immersive curation of cinema, dance, live music, theater, and visual arts designed to foster dialogue between the city’s Francophone and Francophile communities.
By uniting artists, local schools, and cultural institutions, the festival showcases the creative breadth of the French-speaking world through a series of premier performances and exhibitions.
Each year in March, the 93 member countries of the Organisation Internationale de La Francophonie (OIF) come together to celebrate the linguistic, cultural, and artistic diversity of the French-speaking world, including Creole languages.
